PASTOR JAMES BUSKE
Pastor James G. Buske is a 1993 Graduate of Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. After attending one year at University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, He transferred to Martin Lutheran College in New Ulm, Minnesota and graduated in the spring of 1998. After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2002, Pastor Buske was first assigned to serve as tutor at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin, where he served as pastor, teacher, coach, and dorm supervisor for the 42 boys that lived on his floor. After two years Jim was then reassigned to serve as associate Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bremerton, Washington. Pastor Buske accepted the call to serve as Pastor and Director of the Lighthouse Youth Center and has began this exciting ministry to the youth on the north side of Milwaukee in 2006. Pastor Buske has experience organizing and recruiting volunteers, and through the dedication and Christ-like love he has shown for his members he has proven to be a strong mentor and guide for the Lighthouse youth. Pastor Buske and his wife, Terry, have four children.
Director of Operations
Mark Gunderson recently took a new role with Lighthouse, serving as the Director of Operations. For the previous ten years he had served as the site director of our Havenwoods campus. Prior to graduation, Mark served his intern year at St. Marcus Lutheran Church in central city Milwaukee where he was privileged to work with youth in an urban setting. He credits that experience for instilling in him a passion for urban ministry. Mark’s other ministry experience includes teaching religion on the high school and college level and in a youth ministry position at a church in Idaho. He and his wife Janet have three children.
Site Director – Garden Homes Campus
Chuqee Fletcher was born and raised in Milwaukee and attended Garden Homes Lutheran School. The building where he is now working, our Lighthouse Garden Homes campus, was the building where he attended school from K3 through 8th grade. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 2008 and went on to graduate from Martin Luther College in 2012. He also earned his MaED in Leadership & Innovation from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 2017. Chuqee and his wife, Erika, have 2 children – Cali and Carter.
PASTOR ANDY GLENDE
Site Director – Havenwoods Campus
Pastor Andy Glende was born in Beatrice, NE and called Columbus, OH home for over 25 years. He is a 1996 graduate of Michigan Lutheran Seminar and a 2000 graduate of Martin Luther College. While studying at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (WLS) he served a one-year emergency position as religion teacher and dorm supervisor at Luther Prep and was reassigned for one more year in that role upon graduating WLS. He was installed as pastor of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Terre Haute, IN in 2006, serving there until 2009. In 2010, Pastor Andy become the discipleship pastor at Victory of the Lamb Lutheran Church in Franklin, WI, serving there until 2012. From July 2012 – August 2018, Andy worked as a wine buyer/manager for Otto’s Wine & Spirits in Brown Deer, WI. He married his wife, Lauren in 2006. Pastor Andy and Lauren currently live in Oak Creek and have two children, Jillian and Jacob.
Mission Advancement Officer
Jamie Dutton joined the Lighthouse Youth Center team in January 2014. She is from Waukesha, WI and is a 2003 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High School (WISCO) and a 2007 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC). Previously, she worked for 7 years at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans on their Community Engagement team; building relationships with congregations and community non-profits to create increased awareness of the many resources Thrivent offers as a not-for-profit. Jamie currently lives in Waterford, WI with her husband, Josh and their two daughters. She truly feels led by God to join the Lighthouse team and is excited to help Lighthouse grow – as that simply means more children coming to know the unconditional love of their Savior!
Vicar – Garden Homes Campus
Caleb Solofra is from Wausau, WI and graduated from Northland Lutheran High School. In 2016 he graduated from Martin Luther College and then spent a year teaching English in Peru. In the 2017-18 school year he taught Spanish at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Caleb is now in his second year of training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and loves working with the kids at Lighthouse. He is overjoyed that these kids are part of his life puzzle as he shares Christ with them daily.
Vicar – Havenwoods Campus
AJ Krieger grew up in Tecumseh, MI. He is in his second year of training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He has six siblings, has worked as a chimney sweep, and lived in Siberia for a year! He appreciates all the opportunities for him to grow in his own faith and leadership as he works with the Lighthouse youth.
Kingdom Workers Mission Worker Partner
Ashleigh Jensen is from Ixonia, WI and graduated from Luther Preparatory School in 2013. In 2017 she graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a bachelors degree in social work and a minor in psychology. Ashleigh is positioned at Lighthouse through the Kingdom Worker’s mission worker program. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to serve at Lighthouse and is excited to see what God has in store for the girls’ leadership and mentoring programs she is developing at Lighthouse.
